NEW SEASON

Hello everyone!  We are gearing up for another season and all is looking good.  The bushes are full of green berries, but they are getting bigger every day.  They are so heavy that it is getting hard to get our small tractor through the rows to fertilize.  We have not set a date for opening, but are looking at either 7/30 or 8/7, but is all depends on Mother Nature.  She rules our world.  Hopefully we won't have any damage from all the wild weather we have been experiencing lately or get any hail.  Hope to see everyone real soon.

It's another beautiful picking day at OPF.  The back field is still very plentiful.  Hope to see you today, if not we reopen on Thursday, August 1, at 6 a.m.  Thanks!

BEAUTIFUL START

What a beautiful day to start our 2013 season.  Nice cool weather that made for a great day to pick berries.
We awoke to downpours this a.m., but hope to salvage the rest of the day.  We are open and you can pick in the rain if you wish.  The weather people say that the afternoon should be good and that tomorrow is the pick of the weekend with temps in the low 80s.
There are still plenty of berries out there and we hope to see you soon.  Remember to bring your own containers as we have no pails this year.  Our price is $1.70 per lb.

IT'S FINALLY TIME!

We will be opening this Thursday, July 25th, for the season.  The fields are looking good and the berries are big and juicy.  Please remember to bring your own containers to pick in as we will not have pails to sell this year.  We open at 6 a.m.  $1.70 per lb.  All pails will need to be weighed before entering the fields.  Can't wait to see all our past customers and to welcome all newcomers.  Pack a lunch, sit at one of our picnic tables and enjoy the day.  Coffee and water available.  Happy picking!

WE WILL NO LONGER HAVE PAILS FOR SALE

After more than 30 years of purchasing pails from the same company we can no longer get our white pails from them.  I know this can be a hardship for some people if you do not bring enough containers with you and we apologize in advance, but it really is not our fault.

I have done a thorough search on the web and the cheapest pails would cost us $2.80 and I know you can get them cheaper elsewhere.

So be sure that you pack the car full of containers before leaving home.

Still no date for opening, but surely the heat that is headed in this weekend should push them ahead.  Till then stay happy and stay safe!

Beginning a new season

Hello faithful followers and newbies!  We have been working very hard all year and hopefully our efforts will pay off soon.  As you know this past winter was a blinger and this spring it has done nothing but rain. This does curtail what we need to dofor the bushes, but shouldn't interfere with the season.

It is looking as if we will be on the same schedule as last year beginning with a July opening again.  Everything in the field is pointing in that direction.  I will keep you up to date here and we will also have a telephone message as soon as we know when we will open.  The berries are still green, so it is probably 4 to 5 weeks away at this point, which could be as early as 7/18 or 7/25.  Until then, happy dreams of big, juicy blueberries!
